KAPAMILYA actor Piolo Pascual expressed how ecstatic he felt as he finished another film with Star Cinema – eight years since his last one. During the media conference for his upcoming film, “Meet, Greet & Bye”, he shared that it just felt like coming home to a family that raised him throughout the years.
Piolo’s last film with Star Cinema was back in 2017 with the psychological drama romance film, Last Night.
“After eight years, I’m just excited to be back,” he declared.
“It’s nice to be back, your first love, your first family, and of course, ABS-CBN and Star Cinema, for that matter. Ang sarap nung pakiramdam na uuwi ka sa pamilya talaga na nagpalaki sayo, na nagbigay sa‘yo ng break, [and] at the same time ang sarap ng pakiramdam na nakabuo ka ng isang pamilya within the shoot,” he added.
The Kapamilya star shared that his latest film – which stars Maricel Soriano, Belle Mariano, Juan Karlos Labajo, and Joshua Garcia as well – is their gift to all the Filipinos.
“Yun ang regalo namin sa mga tao, itong pelikula na ginawa namin. Pinaghirapan for so many months and we’re just really excited because when it comes to family dramas, when it comes to films like this, ang mapagkakatiwalaan talaga natin is Star Cinema,” he shared.
The official trailer of the film was released during the media conference. All the actors couldn’t help but be emotional as it was their first time seeing it as well. Piolo shared how it “hits close to home” for him which is why he had tears in his eyes.
He then revealed that they weren’t allowed by the film’s director, Cathy Garcia Sampana, to cry while they were shooting the scenes. He admitted how difficult it was for them given the gravity of the situation their characters in the film were facing.
“Meet, Greet & Bye” will be showing in cinemas worldwide starting this November 12. (Push Team)
