BACOLOD City – Twelve persons were detained in the custodial facility of the Pontevedra municipal police station for alleged violation of Municipal Ordinance 20-006 Section 13, or illegal fishing.
The suspects, Rozar Moliño, Brian Gecangao, Leonil Junio, Remar Genco, Niko Panunso, and Jerry Laverez, were caught around 11 p.m. on Nov. 19.
Also arrested were Carlito Rapiosa, Joemarie Erael, Regie Oroso, Loding Gerogaling, Kineth Tolentino, and John Vincent Capangyarihan.
Joint elements of the police station and Bantay Dagat were conducting a seaborne patrol in the territorial waters of Pontevedra when they spotted the suspects.
Recovered from them were fishing nets, boards and ropes with an estimated value of P30,000, a police report showed./PN
