SAN JOSE, Antique – Team Asenso Antiqueño (Team AA), a group composed of former, incumbent and aspiring mayors, endorsed AA Legarda for congressman, Captain Vic Fedelicio for governor, and Sangguniang Panlalawigan member Julius Cezar Tajanlangit for vice governor as their flag-bearers for the 2022 elections.

Legarda, brother of incumbent congresswoman and Deputy Speaker Loren Legarda, aims to continue the programs and projects of her sister.

“We unanimously decided to support him for the congressional post because we saw the efficiency her sister delivered to Antique. We seek for continuity, and we trust that he is the man that can make it happen,” one of the members of the Team AA said.

Captain Vic Fedelicio, the president and chief executive officer of Vega Manila Crew Management, Inc., also won the confidence of the group to challenge incumbent Gov. Rhodora Cadiao.

“He has a reputation for excellent leadership and he really has a good heart for Antiqueños. We know he will never fail us,” the group said.

The business sector, supportive of the team, stressed in a statement: “We are tired of corruption and manipulation in the current administration. With the skills and sincerity of Mr. Legarda, Captain Fedelicio and SP Nonoy Julius, they will bring change to the lives of our fellowmen.”

The 28-year-old SP member Julius Cezar Tajanlangit , or SP Nonoy Julius as fondly called by everyone, is Team AA’s bet for vice governor. He started his political career at 16 as a Sangguniang Kabataan chairman of his barangay.

As his life rolled, Tajanlangit made history for Antique by being the first and only PCL President to be elected for two consecutive terms and the only PCL President from Antique who became the Regional Chairman for PCL-Western Visayas.

Tajanlangit is currently an Ex-Officio Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member of the Binirayan Province.

“He delivered exemplary performance for a youngster in this field. He is a man of a few words but full of actions. All of his SB members strongly recommended him for the post,” said Mayor Gian Occeña of Sibalom and a member of the Team AA.

On July 2, 2021, team AA held a meeting to concretize and document their intention of endorsing their forerunners for the upcoming election. They manifested a resolution/petition duly signed by all the members of the team. It was also stipulated that they will support DSL Loren Legarda for her senatorial bid in 2022.

“AICS, TUPAD, scholarships, and more programs and projects from the government reached and were felt by the grassroots for the first time. These directly affected and improved our lives. We, the laylayan of society, are grateful that we had her as our representative. And we will support her for our own good,” a student leader from University of Antique said.

The student added: “With honest people like Sir AA, Captain Vic, and SP Nonoy to continue her legacy, we know that projects and programs will flood the province.”

The following persons made their commitment by signing the resolution/petition entitled “A Petition Strongly Endorsing Mr. AA Bautista Legarda to be the Next Congressman, Mr. Vicente Fedelicio to be the Governor and Hon. Julius Cezar O. Tajanlangit, PCL president, to be the Vice Governor of the Lone District and Province of Antique and Supporting Deputy Speaker Hon. According to Team AA, there are other members who joined the meeting virtually and guaranteed to sign the document.

“They will be a force to reckon with. This team is a powerhouse that the Antiqueño people could put their trust and confidence on. They will bring a lot of progress for Antique if they will just be allowed to do so,” said Eric Otayde, former Provincial Information Officer of Antique.

ASENSO ANTIQUEÑO or Team AA will be conducting more meetings for their further plans and movements and they assured that the public will know their standpoints and pronouncements./PN
