PRISAA leads partial Integrated Meet tally with 20 gold medals

ILOILO City – With 20 gold, eight silver and six bronze medals, the Iloilo Private Schools Athletics Association (ILOPRISAA) has taken the runaway lead in the secondary level partial tally of the ongoing 2016 Iloilo Schools Sports Council-Integrated Meet on Wednesday at the Iloilo Sports Complex.
Meanwhile, the 5th district Congressional District Sports Association (CDSA) is at a distant second place in the secondary level with 12 gold, 12 silver and 9 bronze medals, as the CDSA 1st district trails close behind with an 8-8-12 gold-silver-bronze tally.
However, in the elementary level, the CDSA 5th district has shown its mettle in the 4th day of the competition with an impressive 17-21-2 gold-silver-bronze haul. The CDSA 4th district is at the second spot on the scoreboard, boasting 8 gold, 6 silver and 18 bronze medals, as the ILOPRISAA has claimed 3rd with a 6-4-4 gold-silver-bronze showing.
In the Athletics events held on Wednesday, Mark Roy Bartolome of the 5th district CDSA took home the gold in the 400m elementary boys’ finals, as his teammate Reynante Delante and Zyron Palec of the 2nd district CDSA settled for silver and bronze, respectively.
In the 400m elementary girls’ finals, Edna Magtubo (5th district CDSA) outran the competition, followed by runner-up finishers Marjorie Basea (5th district CDSA) and Luil Dapat (4th district CDSA).
Meanwhile in the discus throw secondary boys’ finals, John Dominic Limpiado (ILOPRISAA) claimed the championship as James Losañes (5th district CDSA) and Chestair Mabunay (ILOPRISAA) bagged silver and bronze, respectively.
In other results, Mary Rose Billones (5th district CDSA) topped the elementary girls’ high jump event, followed by Rain Joy Trompita (1st district CDSA) and Nitchel Sabidalas (2nd district CDSA). In secondary girls’ high jump Alexie Marie Caimoso (2nd district CDSA) emerged victorious, followed by Cathy Nebresa (1st district CDSA) and Jeren Quisay (5th district CDSA).
The 2016 Integrated Meet, which welcomed more than 3,000 athletes from all over the province, is slated to conclude today at the Iloilo Sports Complex./PN
