ILOILO City — The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) apprehended six most wanted persons at the provincial and city levels during a series of separate operations conducted within a 24-hour period on May 12.
The operations began at approximately 10:56 a.m. when alias “Justine,” identified as the No. 10 most wanted person in Iloilo City for estafa, voluntarily surrendered to Iloilo City Police Station 2 in Barangay Nabitasan, La Paz district, and posted bail the same day. Shortly after at 12:40 p.m., personnel from the Carles Municipal Police Station and the 2nd Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company arrested alias “Totong,” the Top 6 most wanted person of Iloilo Province for rape by carnal knowledge in Barangay Bancal, Carles town.
The sweep continued into the afternoon as alias “Toto,” the No. 9 provincial most wanted person of Capiz for lascivious conduct, surrendered to the Roxas City Police Station at Pueblo de Panay, Barangay Lawaan, at around 3:30 p.m. At 4:37 p.m., joint elements of the Barotac Viejo Municipal Police Station and the Iloilo Police Provincial Office’s Provincial Intelligence Unit arrested Iloilo’s Top 7 most wanted person, alias “Mark,” for rape with homicide, in Barotac Viejo town.
This was followed closely by the 5:12 p.m. arrest of Capiz’s No. 8 fugitive, alias “Emil,” for acts of lasciviousness in Ivisan town, and the 5:18 p.m. arrest of the No. 7 most wanted person of Capiz for rape in Jamindan.
Police Brigadier General Josefino D. Ligan, director of PRO-6, stated that these arrests demonstrate the dedication of personnel in tracking fugitives and noted that the voluntary surrenders reflect strong community trust in the justice system.
He further urged remaining wanted persons to surrender and face legal consequences, assuring that the Philippine National Police will maintain fairness and respect for human rights while upholding due process.
All suspects are currently under police custody for the proper disposition of their cases./PN
