ILOILO – A 47-year-old motorcycle driver lost his life after a head-on collision with an oncoming private car in Barangay Atabayan, Tigbauan, Iloilo, on Wednesday, May 13.
Authorities identified the victim as Louie Olbido, a resident of the town’s Barangay Buyu-an, while the involved Chevrolet sedan driver was Jose Neri Bellera, 47, of Barangay Balantad, Guimbal, Iloilo.
According to a report from DYRI RMN Iloilo, Police Captain Alfred Mansoy, chief of the Tigbauan Municipal Police Station, stated that based on Bellera’s account, the motorcycle was observed swerving or moving in a “zigzag” manner toward the sedan’s lane.
The victim sustained fatal injuries due to the severe impact of the crash, which resulted in his death.
As of press time, Tigbauan police were awaiting the decision of the Olbido family regarding whether they will file formal charges against the driver of the sedan./PN
