PRO-6 chief calls out cops with mistresses

ILOILO City – Married policemen with mistresses give the Philippine National Police (PNP) a bad name, according to the new director of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6).

Though marital affairs are private matters, the PNP does not condone married policemen maintaining illicit affairs, said Chief Superintendent John Bulalacao.

“Actually meron din silang magiging kasalanan sa ating batas at sa Diyos. I do not encourage them to have extramarital affairs dahil hindi maganda sa imahe ng ating PNP,” said Bulalacao.

He reminded policemen of the ethical standards they have to meet.

The PNP’s Chiefs of Police Manual lists the ethical standards for policemen: Morality, judicious use of authority, justice, humility, orderliness, and perseverance.

Bulalaco’s main thrusts for the PRO-6 are organizational discipline, the campaigns against illegal drugs and crimes and curbing if not totally stopping the involvement of policemen in illegal activities such as drug pushing or using.

“The objective is for the PNP to have a good relationship with the community. Magkakaroon ang respect ang ating mga kababayan kung ang pulis ay hindi gumagawa ng kamalian at ginagawa talaga nila ang kanilang tungkulin,” said Bulalacao./PN
