BACOLOD City – Two rape suspects were arrested in San Carlos and Bago cities in Negros Occidental.
Eugene Villa Pedoy, 36, of Sitio Cabagtasan, Barangay Codcod, San Carlos City was charged with three counts of rape.
Superintendent D’Artagnan Katalbas Jr., San Carlos City police chief, and his deputy, Inspector Lamberto Mirande served Pedoy with a warrant of arrest in his house on Dec. 19.
Presiding Judge Amy Alabado Avellano of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 58 issued the warrant on Dec. 9. She did not set a bail bond.
Pedoy was detained at the San Carlos City police station.
The other rape suspect was a 21-year-old laborer from Purok Weber, Barangay Don Jorge Araneta, Bago City.
Jay-R Alvarez Ballerta was charged with rape in relation to the Special Protection of Children against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
Officers served him an arrest warrant that Judge Frances V. Guanzon of the RTC Branch 62 issued on Dec. 12. Guanzon did not set a bail bond./PN
