ROXAS City – Personnel of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) have yet to recover the body of a man who allegedly drowned in a river in Barangay Poblacion, Panitan, Capiz.
The 43-year-old Leopoldo Diosana, a utility worker at the public market, had been jumping off the bridge for three to four times already, said MDRRMO head Rosauro del Castillo.
“This is not the first time,” said del Castillo.
Diosana did the stunt again and disappeared around 12 p.m. on Aug. 15.
“We are monitoring his relatives. There is still a possibility that he is alive and had sneaked out of the river unnoticeably,” said del Castillo.
Diosana was frustrated for being single and would often get drunk.
“Maybe he is afraid to come out. He was warned several times that he will be arrested the moment he jumps off the bridge again,” del Castillo added./PN
