BACOLOD City – A 38-year-old resident of Barangay 30 was arrested for alleged indiscriminate firing on Sunday.
Yanci Ledesma discharged his sulpak, a local term for a homemade 12-gauge shotgun, in his house for no apparent reason, police said.
Police Station 6 officers arrested him. They also recovered the firearm, a fired cartridge case and live ammunition.
Detained in the station’s lockup cell, Ledesma is facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
On the same day, Police Station 4 served Beatrice Ann Marie Suarez, 29, of Barangay 19 a warrant of arrest for a drug charge.
Suarez, charged with violation of Section 5 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, was already in the Police Station 4 custodial facility in Barangay Villamonte at the time.
Regional Trial Court Branch 50 Judge Estefanio Libutan issued the arrest warrant. He recommended no bail./PN
