BACOLOD City – A farmer was found dead in a rice field in Purok Greenhills, Barangay Atipuluan, Bago City, Negros Occidental.
Jose Benito Ercilla, 49, was believed to have been struck by lightning.
He was discovered by resident Arnaldo Gawan around 6 a.m. on May 22.
The victim was wearing a black rain coat and trousers.
Ercilla reportedly left for work in the afternoon but did not return home.
The victim was brought to a local mortuary for a “post mortem” examination./PN
