CAPIZ – A suspected rifle grenade was recovered in Sitio Luyo, Barangay Culasi, Roxas City during a security operation conducted by the Provincial Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Canine Unit (PECU).
The explosive device was discovered by the owner of a residential property currently under construction, who immediately notified local authorities upon finding the item.
In a radio interview, barangay kagawad Enrico Joseph said the exact type of the grenade has yet to be confirmed by bomb experts, but emphasized the risks associated with such explosive devices.
According to local authorities, this is not the first time an explosive has been found in Barangay Culasi and that these repeated discoveries continue to pose safety and security risks in the area.
Joseph urged residents to remain vigilant and to immediately report any suspicious or unfamiliar items to local officials, noting that swift community action is crucial in preventing potential harm.
