Road crash kills nurse, teacher in Cadiz City

BACOLOD City – The motorcycle they were riding crashed against a sugarcane-loaded truck on the national highway in Barangay Caduhaan, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental.

Nurse John Paul Ladrillo, 30, of Barangay Zone 1, Cadiz City and teacher John Eurich Depasupil, 28, of Barangay Banquerohan, Cadiz City both sustained fatal injuries on the body.

Ladrillo was driving his motorcycle with Depasupil as back rider when they tried to overtake a truck.

But Ladrillo lost control of the motorcycle, sending him and Depasupil crashing to the ground. Unfortunately, they fell on the path of the moving truck around 4:10 p.m. on Nov. 20, police said.

Depasupil died on the spot, while Ladrillo expired at the Dr. Ramon Gustilo Hospital in Manapla, Negros Occidental.

The truck driver, Mario Sevelleta Bendevel, 47, of Barangay Malasibog, Escalante City, Negros Occidental

fled to the barangay hall fearing for his safety, but he later surrendered to the police.

Policemen of Cadiz City took Bendevel in custody for filing of appropriate charges./PN
