BACOLOD City – Police have arrested a suspected robbery gang leader at the Bredco Port.
Jonny Villarete, 31, of Purok Riverside, Barangay Bata was hauled to the Police Station 1 custodial facility on Wednesday.
According to the police, Villarete allegedly once belonged to the Arnold “Agui” Cuadra crime group but separated and formed his own gang.
Villarete’s group was believed to be behind the series of robbery-holdup incidents in Talisay, Silay and Bacolod cities, police said.
Judge Edgar Tupaz of the Regional Trial Court Branch 46 issued the arrest warrant that the officers served him and set the bail bond at P100,000./PN
