MANILA – Vice President Leni Robredo on Sunday said she will decide whether or not she will run in the 2022 National Election either by September or October, just a few weeks or days before the filing of certificate of candidacy (COC) at the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
Pero sa akin, kapag nag-file ako … hindi ako magwi-withdraw kahit pa gaano kahirap,” said Robredo on her weekly radio show.
But according to Robredo, she will have to suspend all talks regarding the election especially amid the recent surge in COVID-19 due to the rising cases of the more transmissible delta variant and the placing of Metro Manila under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).
Sana in two weeks, maging okay na iyong numbers natin para makapaglaan tayo ng oras para sa preparation for the 2022 elections,” she added.
Robredo said that pausing talks on election includes exploratory talks with other national elections contenders, which she said started in June, as well as plans on unification.
