ROXAS City – The construction of the new Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital in Barangay Lanot continues.
Capiz governor Antonio del Rosario said the hospital is “40 percent” complete as of this writing.
Health programs are among his priorities, said the governor.
The Department of Health, the Department of Public Works and Highways and the Provincial Engineers’ Office are working together on the facility.
In 2015 President Benigno Aquino III and then Health secretary Janette Garin shelled out P41 million to augment funding for the hospital’s construction, said del Rosario.
The governor was Capiz’s 1st District representative at the time.
The amount was used for the foundation and slab on the ground and second floors, and a portion of the third floor.
An additional P50 million was included in this year’s national budget still for the hospital’s construction, del Rosario said. (With Capiz Aksyon News Center/PN)
