BACOLOD City – An 8-year-old resident of Sitio Mambanao, Barangay Kumaliskis, Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental was shot dead near his house.
Melvin Morden had multiple gunshot wounds on the body, including a fatal one on the head, police said.
He just arrived from a pre-wedding activity, locally called likod-likod where he danced and drank, when attacked around 5:05 a.m. on May 17, said Senior Inspector Joevito Bose, Salvador Benedicto police chief.
Police were looking into personal grudge as motive.
Bose said they have identified a “person of interest” but refused to identify them. All he said was the suspect may have used a .45-caliber pistol./PN
