BACOLOD City – A man believed to be a victim of summary execution was found dead at a sugarcane field in Barangay Santo Niño, E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental.
Police said 39-year-old Niel Andy Arcangel of Barangay Tuburan, E.B. Magalona sustained a gunshot wound on the head. Residents discovered his lifeless body around 6 a.m. on Sept. 1.
Arcangel was wearing a checkered t-shirt and denim pants. His hands and legs were tied with electrical wire, the police added.
Recovered from the crime scene were one fired cartridge case and one deformed slug of an undetermined firearm.
Officers of the E.B. Magalona municipal police station have yet to identify the suspects and the motive in the killing./PN
