Katropa managed to keep in step with Beermen early as they trailed 23-21 when the latter went on a huge run behind Chris Ross, Arwind Santos and Cabagnot for a 37-26 lead at the end of the period.

Beermen continued scoring early in the second canto behind Cabagnot to widen the lead 48-30. TNT managed to trim it down to 13 points but San Miguel stretched the lead 62-42 at the half on a triple by Santos.

Beermen raised the lead to 24 points early in the third. TNT countered with a run to come to within 68-55 but SMB executed another run from Ross and Lassiter to build their largest lead 94-66 on a basket by Gabby Espinas.

TNT had their last push in the final frame to come to within 19 points but Beermen quickly diffused that run with consecutive points from Cabagnot and Ross to seal the victory.
