IN LINE with the Dinagyang Festival, Iloilo City will host the 2017-2018 PBA Philippine Cup encounter between three-time defending champion San Miguel Beermen and TNT KaTropa.
The match – one of the out-of-town games scheduled for the season-opening conference – will be held on Jan. 13 next year at the University of San Agustin gymnasium on General Luna Street.
Just like their previous face-offs, the Beermen-KaTropa clash is expected to be as exciting, with both team maintaining their powerhouse lineups.
Four-time Most Valuable Player June Mar Fajardo will still banner Beermen along with veterans Arwind Santos, Chris Ross, Alex Cabagnot, Marcio Lassiter, Gabby Espinas, Von Pessumal, Matthew Ganuelas-Rosser, Brian Heruela, and David Semerad.
KaTropa, on the other hand, is still led by Jayson Castro, Jeth Troy Rosario, Roger Pogoy, Kelly Williams, Ryan Reyes, Ryan Garcia, Anthony Semerad, Moala Tautuaa, Mark Tallo, and Bacolodnon Justin Chua.
This will be PBA’s second official game in Iloilo City over the past two years. On Jan. 14 this year, Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Kings fought Meralco Bolts, also at the USA gym. Kings won 83-72.
