IF SHE were to choose, Filipina pop icon Sarah Geronimo said she would love to collaborate with South Korean boy group BTS member Jungkook in the future.
Conducting a Q&A session on X (formerly Twitter), Geronimo answered a fan’s query if there’s any Korean group that she’d like to meet and collaborate with, to which she replied Jungkook.
“I love JUNGKOOK. I think he is an amazing artist. Ang galing niya sobra [smiley],” wrote the OPM icon.
Broadway legend Lea Salonga, who’s known as an avid fan of BTS, enthusiastically responded to Geronimo’s answer.
“Grabe siya! [I strongly] agree!!!” wrote the Miss Saigon star.
Geronimo received the Global Force Award at Billboard Women in Music on Wednesday, March 6, making her the first Filipina to be recognized since the organization’s inception in 2007.
Given that she is making a mark internationally, the “Tala” singer was also asked if she’s open to doing musical projects abroad.
“If given the chance, why not. But of course I am open to working with international artists if given the opportunity,” she said.
With a career spanning 20 years, the popstar royalty has been recognized by different and international award-giving bodies, solidifying her status as one of the foundations of Philippine music. (Jessica Ann Evangelista © Philippine Daily Inquirer)
