MANILA – Seven squads have earned a qualification to the regional finals of the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas 3×3 Basketball during a recent Negros Occidental/Bacolod qualification tournament at the St. John’s Institute Gym in Bacolod City.
The four qualified teams in the boys division were STI-West Negros University Brigades of John Mark Pamati-an, Bejee Deocampo, Austine Laureno, and Bon Balontong.
Also qualified were University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos Ramen of Joshua Villarosa, Mark Macasa, Rob Requiron, and Emmanuel Pascual.
University of St. La Salle had two qualified teams in Kharl Mangubat, Nelbert Minerva, Marc Soberano, and Kyle Sumbi of White team, and Cliff Ano, Gavin dela Cruz, John Jamero, and Joshua Olayra of the Green team.
Gaining qualifiers in the distaff side were Bacolod City National High School’s Kaye Pesquera, Shalimar Dublar, Hallyza Quiatchon, and Charity Gicana; P413 of Rochie Hofilena, Rachel Montoya, Ivy Sejo, and Christine Garcia; and UNO-R Angels’ Kiara Mejica, Dyna Nieves, Rachel Sulitas, and Kolyn Talapiero.
The qualified teams from the Negros Occidental/Bacolod leg will compete in the Region 6 Regional Finals in late September in Iloilo City against qualifiers from Antique, Capiz, Aklan, Passi City and Iloilo City.
SBP 3×3 Basketball Region 6 is headed by Regional Director Robert L. Uy while Negros Occidental/Bacolod City head is Tony Agustin and coach Tata Belangel, the SBP Head for youth in Region 6./PN
