ILOILO – The search is on for the 2020 outstanding women community leaders.
The Junior Chamber International (JCI) Iloilo Ilang Ilang is now accepting nominees.
This is the fifth edition of the Ang Ilongga Awards: The Search for the Outstanding Woman Community Leader. It aims to recognize the efforts of women leaders in effecting positive change in society.
Ang Ilongga Awards started in 2014. It covers the following sectors: justice, peace and order, health and wellness, education, culture and the arts, entrepreneurship, agriculture, fisheries and forestry, and disaster risk reduction and management.
Nominees should be Filipinos who are at least 18 years old, bona fide residents of Iloilo province and emerging community leaders who may or may not be working with people’s group or civil society organization.
Different aspects of the nominees shall be looked into such as leadership (30 percent), women empowerment (20 percent), community and civic involvement (20 percent), and social impact (30 percent).
Ang Ilongga Committee will screen all the nomination forms received and will determine the Top 5. After the panel interview, the Top 3 will be determined and will already be called the finalists.
These three will then be ranked after an on-site validation to be conducted by the committee in-charge.
The nomination forms can be downloaded from Ang Ilongga Awards Facebook page and should reach the organization’s e-mail address iloiloilangilang@gmail.com with the nominee’s name as heading on or before March 31, 2020./PN
