BACOLOD City – A 30-year-old security guard was shot dead by an unidentified gunman on Locsin Street, Barangay 37 in this city.
Benjie Fajardo, a resident of the city’s Barangay Banago, was shot on his body and head.
He was rushed to the nearest hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
According to Police Major Elmer Bonilla, chief of the Bacolod City Police Station 1, the victim was aboard his motorcycle when the incident happened at around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 1.
Responding policemen recovered at the crime scene seven empty shells of an unknown firearm.
Bonilla added that the victim had received death threats prior to the shooting.
As of this writing, officers of the Bacolod City Police Station 1 were still investigating the incident to determine the motive of the killing and identify the gunman./PN
