ILOILO City – A car whose driver fell asleep crashed against the center island of a bridge in Barangay Buhang, Jaro district. Those on board, including the driver, were hospitalized, police said.
The incident happened at around 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
The Hyundai Elantra was on its way to Barangay Tagbac, Jaro from Pag-ibig Subdivision in Barangay Buhang at the time, a police report showed.
Driver Patrick Albert Ferrariz, 24, dozed off for a short while before the crash, said the police.
His passengers were Barangay Tuburan, Pototan, Iloilo residents Ralf Alfred Paturara, 24, and Jun Erwin Cordero, 29.
Ferrariz and Paturara complained of chest pains while Cordero was wounded on the face.
A concerned citizen brought them to the hospital, police said./PN
