BACOLOD City – Illegal drug suspect Ricky Serenio vowed to avenge his brother’s death at the hands of still unidentified attackers.
Serenio suspected that the people he tagged to the drug trade were behind the shooting of brother Wilmar in Barangay Singcang-Airport.
In a radio interview, the self-confessed former bagman of the Berya drug group dared them to meet him at Goldenfield Commercial Complex for a “face-off.”
Early morning on Monday, the 31-year-old Wilmar was drinking with three companions when armed people disembarked from a utility vehicle and ran after and fired at him, said the police.
Serenio claimed that one of those behind the attack was gunsmith Efren Villanez, who he alleged is a police asset; a certain “PO1 Alcoseba”; and a long-haired man from Toboso, Negros Occidental.
He threatened to kill a brother and a son of those who attacked Wilmar.
Villanez denied the allegation. He said Serenio is just upset because he was the one who told the police about the latter’s whereabouts, resulting in the drug suspect’s arrest in Talisay City./PN
