BACOLOD City – Suspected shabu weighing around 150 grams was recovered in a drug buy-bust operation in Purok Riverside, Barangay Banago.

The suspected illegal drugs contained in four plastic sachets were confiscated from the 39-year-old resident Randy Benjamin, a former village watchman, a police report showed.

The suspected shabu was valued at around P1,875,000, police said.

Benjamin was caught after he sold suspected shabu to a poseur-buyer for P2,000 around 5 a.m. on Saturday, the report stated.

Antidrug personnel from the Bacolod City Police Office’s Police Station 3 led by Chief Inspector Ruel Culanag staged the entrapment operation.

Aside from the suspected drugs, a weighing scale, five bullets of a 12-gauge shotgun and other drug paraphernalia were also seized from Benjamin.

The suspect was detained in the lockup cell of Police Station 3.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, will be filed against him./PN
