SHERYL Cruz’s only daughter Ashley Nicole is officially starting her journey in the showbiz industry under the screen name Nicole Sonora as the mother-daughter made their first TV appearance together.
Nicole made her first television appearance on the March 25 episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” where she joined her mother to talk about her decision to pursue acting.
“Since preschool po I’ve always wanted to be an actor. But I didn’t think it would be my career path at first, not until towards the end of college, when a professor told me, ‘You have potential. You should try to enhance it,”’ she shared.
Cruz admitted that she was initially hesitant about her daughter’s decision, given that she knows how challenging the industry can be.
“At first, like any other parent, showbiz is very hard. But I cannot take that away from her because it’s in her blood. I know she will have something to fall back on because tapos naman na siya ng kaniyang pag-aaral,” said the celebrity mom adding that her daughter is also a talented writer.
The seasoned actress then offered words of encouragement to Nicole, reminding her to hold on to her values amid the pressures of show business.
“I wish you well in your showbiz endeavors and please don’t lose your moral compass,” Cruz said. “I want her to have the time of her life here in show business. It’s a roller coaster ride of emotions, I just want her to enjoy the ride and know herself better than anyone else.”
Before pursuing acting, Nicole, whose father is actor and singer Norman Bustos, is graduate of San Francisco State University, where she finished summa cum laude in 2023.
As of writing, the upcoming projects or appearances of the 24-year-old celebrity daughter are kept under wraps.
