BACOLOD City – One of the victims in the shooting in Barangay Pahanocoy on April 5 had died.

Mark Cliff Mellegin, 22, expired at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital around 1:15 a.m. on April 8, said Senior Inspector Wilfredo Denoman, Police Station 8 chief.

Mellegin had gunshot wounds all over the body.

Another victim, 21-year-old Johnrey Patricio, remains confined in the regional hospital. He was hit on the penis.

Mellegin and Patricio chased someone who slapped a companion while they were binge-drinking in the village. They ended up getting shot.

The suspect, who was with three others at the time of the attack, remains at large as of this writing.

Denoman said they already identified the suspect but refused to disclose the name pending the filing of charges in court./PN
