BACOLOD City – A road accident injured in Barangay Rizal, Sagay City, Negros Occidental turned fatal for a member of the Philippine Army. Two others were injured, police said.
The 42-year-old Sergeant Glenn Padernal of Barangay Bagacay, Hinobangon, Samar was driving a motorcycle with Corporal Marlon Goto, 24, and Tonton Lizares, 30, on board around 1 p.m. on Oct. 22, a police report showed.
Padernal sustained head and body injuries and was declared “dead on arrival” at the Alfredo E. Marañon Sr. Memorial District Hospital in Sagay City, where Goto and Lizares were also brought.
Padernal, Goto and Lizares were members of the intelligence unit of the 62nd Infantry Battalion Unifier.
Police were still investigating the incident./PN
