BACOLOD City – The Sangguniang Panlungsod’s committee on police matters will investigate a sex scandal involving children in conflict with the law (CICL).
Recently, sexually explicit photos of two minors in the custody of the Social Development Center (SDC) here circulated on social media.
According Councilor Al Victor Espino, committee chairman, he would focus primarily on SDC’s policies because “the center has the responsibility for the CICL”.
He would also investigate as to who were the persons on duty during the incident and why did it happen since the center’s boys and girls were staying in separate rooms, according to Espino.
The scandal, he added, could give a “wrong signal” to CICLs that they have freedom to do what they want inside the center.
Espino would also reach out to Councilor Ana Marie Palermo, chairman of the committee on women and children, to also look into the incident./PN
