Sparking rumors, Cristine Reyes unfollows husband Ali online

Cristine Reyes and Ali Khatibi

FANS of Cristine Reyes noticed over the weekend that the actress no longer follows her husband, Ali Khatibi, on social media, triggering speculation anew that the couple has separated.

On Instagram, Reyes, it appears, now only follows five people – Khatibi is not one of them. As of Monday, Khatibi appears to still follow Reyes on the image-sharing platform.

The apparent move of Reyes to unfollow Khatibi is the latest indication, at least to her fans, that the two have been going through a rough patch. This follows Reyes’s intriguing post in January where she asked for prayers.

Just this April, Reyes’s sister and fellow actress Ara Mina was cornered on the topic of the rumored separation. While she neither confirmed nor denied this, Mina pointed out that it is normal for couples to have misunderstandings.

“Normal lang naman sa mga mag-asawa ang may hindi pagkaka-intindihan. Hindi naman siguro away – indifferences [sic],” she added.

Reyes and Khatibi have so far kept mum amid this new round of rumors – the actress last denied her marriage was on the rocks in late March – but eagle-eyed followers of the couple on social media noted how the two have not been posting photos of each other lately.

Reyes’s most recent post with Khatibi was on Feb. 15. Since then, she has been posting several photos of her alone with Amarah, their daughter. The most recent, last Thursday, showed them, without Khatibi, walking on the beach.

Khatibi’s latest post on May 9 – a video of Amarah having swimming lessons – has notably been flooded with comments from concerned fans, asking if he and his wife have indeed called it quits. (ABS-CBN News)
