BACOLOD City – She was not as lucky as her companion after they were stabbed and hacked in Barangay Alijis.
The 31-year-old resident Melody Sara Rana died after sustaining stab wounds on the chest and in both hands, a police report showed.
Meanwhile, Rosward Panes, also a resident of the village, sustained hack wounds on the right shoulder. Panes was currently recuperating as an outpatient, police said.
Rana and Panes were both ambulant vendors in Barangay Alijis.
It was around 1:30 a.m. on Friday when the incident happened in front of the AJ Garcia Elementary School.
Police Station 7 commander Chief Inspector Ramel Sarona said Rana and Panes were walking on their way home when four unidentified suspects waylaid and attacked them.
Prior to that, Rana and Panes had an altercation with other ambulant vendors, initial investigation showed.
Police were still identifying the suspects./PN
