ILOILO City – Police have yet to catch the suspect in stabbing a man in Zone 2, Barangay San Juan, Molo district.
Jocel Escaluna, 33, fled after the incident at around 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 20, a police report showed.
The victim, 43-year-old Rodel Cusay, sustained multiple stab wounds on the body.
His neighbors brought Cusay to the West Visayas State University Medical Center in Jaro. The hospital reported the incident to the Molo police.
Cusay was fixing his cart when Escaluna stabbed him, initial police investigation showed. The suspect also struck him with a stone, causing a laceration on his head, the report further stated.
Investigators were looking into old grudge as motive.
Cusay remained hospitalized as of this writing while the police launched a hot pursuit against Escaluna./PN
