SOMETIMES, a moment becomes special not because of crowns or competitions, but because of the simple magic of children being allowed to shine.

First Prince Gabriel Angelou “Strong” Ladiao-Obligar and First Princess Stacey Gwen “Snowy” Abata-Nufable captured hearts during the King and Queen of Hearts 2026 celebration at Carles Central School in Carles, Iloilo, on February 16. The duo embodied a blend of warmth, confidence, and youthful charm that perfectly matched their nicknames.

Strong, a Grade 4 pupil from Barangay Cabuguana, carried himself with calm confidence, while Snowy, a Grade 5 pupil from Barangay Barosbos, exuded a gentle and graceful presence. Together, they represented the kind of positive energy the school hopes to nurture — self-assurance, kindness, and the courage to express oneself. Their appearance highlighted not rivalry, but participation, friendship, and the joy of being part of a school community celebration.

The event was made more meaningful by the support of their families, friends, the local government unit of Carles, the Carles Central School faculty and staff, and members of the royal family. In a day filled with smiles and laughter, Strong and Snowy reminded everyone that sometimes, the most beautiful moments are not about winning — but about belonging, encouragement, and letting young hearts shine./PN
