BACOLOD City – Police arrested a man in Hacienda Bantud, Barangay Matab-ang, Talisay City, Negros Occidental for illegal possession of firearm.

The 56-year-old Arturo Nio of Hacienda Alvarez, Barangay Concepcion, Talisay City was caught around 12:50 p.m. on Monday, a police report showed.

Senior Inspector Joseth Cantonina of the Talisay police station said they confiscated from Nio a homemade gun called sulpak he was carrying while roaming around the village.

Nio was detained at the Talisay City police station lockup facility and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./PN
