BACOLOD City – The suspect in the stabbing of a barangay watchman and his nine-year-old adopted grandson turned himself in to Police Station 7 on Wednesday.
Twenty-six-year-old Kent Agsam was a neighbor of the victims.
Agsam claimed he was under the influence of illegal drugs when he broke into the house of 73-year-old Aurelio Rull.
He got in through the window, he told police.
Agsam said Rull saw him.
If he were to believe, Agsam feared Rull might suspect him as burglar and shout for help. He said he was “forced” to stab Rull and the child.
Agsam further said he had no intention to rob the victims; he only wanted to “get his drug tooter back”.
One of the victims’ neighbors earlier claimed Rull’s house was being used as a “drug den”.
Vista Alegre captain Lendy De Leon thanked the suspect’s family for their cooperation.
Agsam is included in the barangay drugs watchlist, according to De Leon.
The suspect was detained at the police station, facing charges./PN
