BACOLOD City – A 67-year-old retired driver committed suicide in their house in Hacienda Sta. Maria-Santol, Barangay Zone 15, Talisay City, Negros Occidental.
John Montejo Vergara shot himself in the head around 9 p.m. on Sunday using a 12-gauge shotgun, police said.
His wife Jocelyn, 62, found him in the dining area and rushed him to a hospital, but Vergara was declared “dead on arrival.”
Investigation showed Vergara was suffering from an illness but it was not clear what. Jocelyn told the police Vergara complained earlier that day that he was tired of his health problem.
The wife did not know where Vergara got the firearm./PN
