ROXAS City – Sixty-three police auxiliaries are helping fight the spread of illegal drugs in Tapaz, Capiz.
The municipal government hired them to compose a security force that will aid in the campaign against drugs and crimes.
Tapaz Security Force shall boost the 32-strong police station in maintaining peace and order, Mayor Roberto Palomar said in Executive Order (EO) No. 16-07-01.
The initiative is one of the mayor’s accomplishments in his first 100 days in office, Public Information Officer Margie Gimeno said.
“An outpost had also been built for the Tapaz Security Force,” she said.
Under the EO, the Security Force shall conduct surveillance and monitoring operations, investigation, arrests, and confiscation of shabu and other illegal drugs “within the limits [of the] law.”
It must also “stamp out all activities related to the sale and use of shabu and other illegal drugs” and “have the persons responsible for such illegal activities arrested, prosecuted and incarcerated.”
Of the 58 barangays in Tapaz, 27 are drug-infested, records from the Capiz Police Provincial Office showed. (PIA/PN)
