BACOLOD City — Bacolod Tay Tung High School delivered a clear statement of program-wide dominance after sweeping both age-group crowns in the Calvary Baptist Academy of Pontevedra Volleyball League, ruling the 15-and-under and 17-and-under divisions in decisive fashion.
Mentored by coach Ian Macariola, the Thunderbolts imposed their will throughout the tournament and capped their campaign by defeating host Calvary Baptist Academy in the finals of both divisions, underscoring Tay Tung’s depth and consistency across age levels.
The Thunderbolts first set the tone in the 15U championship match, where they controlled the tempo early and sustained pressure on both ends of the floor to clinch the title.
That momentum carried into the 17U finals, with Tay Tung once again proving too strong for the hosts. The Thunderbolts showcased disciplined execution, balanced offense, and steady defense to complete a clean sweep of the tournament’s top honors.
The 15U championship squad was composed of Czarina Aleksi Ang, Annicka Zoe Chua, Mari Antoinette Cacho, Ariane Mae Alayon, Sheree Frederiz Uy, Gail Ordaniel, Heart Abucion, Yeriel Zafina Montalbo, and Rheatyshia Khate Lim.
Meanwhile, the 17U title-winning lineup featured Marishka Alexandria Andrada, Rayne Angela Dela Cruz, Samantha Yssobel Cañete, Mary Regine Wongyan, XadreJ Zade Española, Nicole Getino, Jessica Jayne Soco, Chennie Mie Millama, and Rinoa Morgan Sonota.
