ILOILO City – A boardinghouse tenant in Block 49, Barangay Bolilao, Mandurriao district was accused of threatening a fellow tenant with a knife.

Francisco Boteja, 31, told the police Marcelo Pajanoy, attempted to harm him using an 8-inch folding knife. He did not know why.

Pajanoy was believed drunk at the time, a police report showed.

The incident at around 6 a.m. on Dec. 5 alarmed other boardinghouse occupants, who sought help from a village watchman.

Responding barangay tanod Nelson Sampane, 56, managed to pacify Pajanoy and turned him over to the police.

Pajanoy was detained at the Mandurriao police station. Boteja said he will file an appropriate charge against Pajanoy./PN
