SAN JOSE, Antique – The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) will soon establish a training center in each of the 18 towns of Antique, according to TESDA Antique acting director Rick Abraham.

Each center costs P3-million and their construction will be implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) through its Antique district engineering office (DEO).

“It is the DPWH that will conduct the bidding for the training centers being in charge of the construction,” Abraham said on Wednesday, adding that the construction will start this year.

Abraham said the fund for the project was obtained through the effort of Antique representative Loren Legarda who worked for its inclusion in the national budget.

“The training centers will already be in response to our long-time problem on the venue of the skills trainings that we will conduct in the municipalities,” he added.

According to Abraham, most TESDA-accredited training centers are in the southern part of the province where San Jose de Buenavista – the province’s capital town – is located.

He said with the establishment of training centers in all 18 municipalities, trainees will no longer find it difficult to attend their classes.(With a report from PNA/PN)
