KALIBO, Aklan – Theft and physical injury crimes were rampant in this capital town for the first 10 months of the year, according to the Kalibo police station.
From January to October, the municipal police recorded 1,593 offenses including both index and non-index crimes.
Focus crimes such as murder, homicide, physical injury, rape, robbery, theft, and motorcycle theft accounted to 28 percent of the town’s total crime volume.
Data from the Kalibo police station showed that there were 191 theft crimes and 200 physical injury crimes recorded during the period.
On the same period, police recorded 29 cases of motorcycle theft, 16 robbery cases, 12 rape cases, four murder cases, and three homicides.
The highest number of index crimes – or offenses against persons and properties – was in January with 246 cases, followed by April with 211, June with 193, May with 190, March with 179, February with 164, July with 144, and August with 113 cases.
Crimes recorded in September were 89 while October, 64, the lowest during the period.
