A BALANCED offensive showing powered Dallas Mavericks to a 138-120 victory over Utah Jazz in the 2025-26 NBA Regular Season on Saturday night (Sunday in the Philippines) in Dallas, Texas.
Klay Thompson provided a major spark off the bench, scoring 23 points in the opening half as Dallas seized early control, allowing them to close out a two-game home sweep despite being short-handed.
The veteran guard also reached a career milestone during the first quarter, becoming the latest Maverick to surpass 17,000 career points in the NBA.
The Mavericks spread the scoring load effectively, with six players finishing in double figures, led by Brandon Williams and Max Christie, who finished with 22 points apiece.
The Mavericks set the tone early behind Thompson by building a double-digit lead in the opening period, forcing the Jazz to play catch-up for the remainder of the contest.
Dallas maintained its advantage through consistent perimeter shooting and active ball movement, with the likes of Naji Marshall, Jaden Hardy, and Dwight Powell also making their contributions.
Cooper Flagg missed a second straight game due to a left ankle sprain, while Anthony Davis and Kyrie Irving were sidelined by injuries. P.J. Washington was also unavailable for personal reasons.
Utah struggled to slow down the Mavericks’ attack and could not recover from its slow start. Keyonte George led the Jazz with 29 points, while Brice Sensabaugh added 25 and rookie Ace Bailey finished with 18.
Meanwhile, Jaylen Brown scored 41 points in just 29 minutes as Boston Celtics cruised to a dominant 132-106 victory over Atlanta Hawks to remain at second place in the Eastern Conference standings.
Sam Hauser also had a solid outing for 30 points, built on 10 three-pointers, while Neemias Queta and Anfernee Simons contributed 14 markers apiece for the streaking Celtics./PN
