Thousands of jobs up for grabs in Iloilo fair today

ILOILO City – Thousands of local and overseas job opportunities will be up for grabs in Iloilo City this Saturday, October 10, as the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Region 6 mounts a massive recruitment drive aimed at connecting jobseekers with prospective employers and facilitating on-the-spot hiring.

The Trabaho Agad Job Fair, scheduled from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Robinsons Place Iloilo along Ledesma Street, will bring together employers from various industries offering positions for both local and international employment.

DOLE-6 director Atty. Sixto Rodriguez Jr. urged jobseekers, particularly fresh graduates, to take advantage of the recruitment event, expressing hope that a significant number of applicants would be hired on the spot.

The job fair forms part of the 2026 Handog ng Pangulo initiative, which seeks to expand employment opportunities, particularly for young Filipinos entering the workforce.

“Thousands of job opportunities from various local and overseas companies and industries are ready to connect with jobseekers like you. Check out the participating employers and available positions that match your skills and qualifications,” DOLE-6 said in its appeal to prospective applicants.

WIDE RANGE OF VACANCIES

Local employment opportunities cover various sectors, including business process outsourcing, hospitality, retail, manufacturing, transportation, information technology, finance and food services.

Among the available positions are customer service representatives, sales managers, booking salesmen, investment specialists, merchandisers, machine operators, sales associates, room attendants, butchers, waiters, hotel nurses, food handlers and IT technicians.

Employers are also looking for delivery riders, drivers, sales and marketing personnel, human resources and administrative assistants, electricians, audit associates, maintenance crew, part-time service crew, bookkeepers, cashiers and restaurant receptionists.

For Filipinos seeking employment abroad, vacancies include factory machine operators, domestic cooks, pet groomers, assistant teachers, staff nurses, fast-food workers, coffee makers, kitchen personnel, teachers, baristas, housekeeping personnel, waiters and chefs.

Other overseas positions include foremen, crane operators, medical technologists and registered nurses.

The wide range of vacancies is expected to attract applicants with different educational backgrounds, technical skills and professional qualifications.

JOBSEEKERS URGED TO REGISTER

DOLE-6 encouraged interested applicants to register in advance through its official website at https://dolero6.com/.

Applicants were also advised to bring multiple copies of their updated résumés and wear smart casual or business attire to make a favorable impression on prospective employers.

The agency emphasized the importance of matching applicants’ qualifications and skills with available vacancies to improve their chances of securing employment.

Rodriguez particularly encouraged newly graduated students to participate, as the job fair offers an opportunity to meet employers directly and explore career options without having to visit multiple companies individually.

Meanwhile, Labor Secretary Francis N. Tolentino said DOLE would continue organizing job fairs in more municipalities and provinces every month as part of the national government’s efforts to make employment opportunities more accessible.

The continuing recruitment initiative underscores the government’s commitment to helping Filipinos find decent and meaningful employment closer to their communities.

Through the Trabaho Agad Job Fair, DOLE hopes to translate the thousands of available vacancies into actual employment, providing jobseekers with opportunities to secure livelihoods and improve their economic prospects./PN
