TOM RODRIGUEZ, who revealed he has remarried, declared he’s glad he and his former wife Carla Abellana, who is now engaged, are “finally moving on.”
The actor said this when asked about his reaction to Abellana and the recent announcement of her engagement, during the media conference of “UnMarry” on Friday, Dec. 5.
“I wish her well. I wish them well. Everyone deserves happiness and we all deserve to move on, kaya I’m glad we’re all finally moving on,” he said.
Rodriguez, who opted not to dwell on the topic, then noted that he is content with the peace he has now and that he does not want to “revisit” the past anymore.
“Nakatutok ako sa sarili kong (I am focusing on my own) married life,” he said. “I like what I have now and I like to keep it that way.”
When asked if he is open to working together with Abellana in the future, Rodriguez replied, “I’d rather not.”
Rodriguez also confirmed during an interview at the event that he has been happily married to his non-showbiz partner. The actor, however, said he prefers to keep the details of his marriage from the public.
“It’s nicer [to be private]. I can delineate my work and ‘yung personal kong buhay (my personal life),” he told the members of the press, noting how he and his wife have been living a “normal and simple life.
“Hindi ko naman sila tinatago,” he added, referring to his wife and child. “Ang rule ko lang, I just wanna live my life privately pero we go out.”
Rodriguez revealed having a son in 2024. Meanwhile, Abellana announced her engagement earlier this month. (Philippine Daily Inquirer)
