BACOLOD City – Three persons were injured after the tricycle they were riding crashed against a Ceres bus on the national road in Barangay Manalad, Ilog, Negros Occidental.
Tricycle driver Francisco Tabucon, 45, and passengers Jay Estosa, 37, and Alano Matunding, 38, sustained serious injuries, said Chief Inspector Nerito Lobrido of the Ilog municipal police station.
Tabucon, Estosa and Matunding were all residents of Barangay Camugao, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.
They were rushed to the Lorenzo Zayco District Hospital in Kabankalan City.
Ceres bus driver Joeann Amante Doronila, 40, of La Carlota City, on the other hand, surrendered to the police.
Initial investigation showed that the tricycle was on the wrong lane when it hit the Ceres bus, which was on its way to Candoni.
The incident happened around 6:30 a.m. on Sept. 24, a police report showed.
The crash caused damage to the tricycle and the bus, police said./PN
