BACOLOD City – A collision between a tricycle and a Ceres bus in San Enrique, Negros Occidental turned fatal for two residents of Bago City.

Three other tricycle passengers and the driver were injured in the crash around 2:50 p.m. on Wednesday in Barangay Tabao Rizal.

Nels Elita, 60, died on the spot while Valerie Rose Labrador, 31, perished while being treated at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) here around 8:15 p.m. that day. Both resided in Barangay Mailum, Bago City.

The tricycle they were riding turned left when the vehicle they were following suddenly stopped, but driver Larry Labrador, 31, failed to anticipate the incoming bus, said Police Officer 3 Anacleto Baliguat, traffic investigator of the San Enrique police.
