BACOLOD City – Policemen of Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental were looking into land dispute as motive in the shooting in Barangay Binicuil. A 49-year-old tricycle driver was injured.
Sammy Villanueva was rushed to the district hospital in the city for a gunshot wound on the chest.
Tagged suspect was Winston Roa, 46, a resident of the village.
Police said Villanueva and Roa had an altercation around 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 12. The former took a bolo and the suspect his .38-caliber revolver.
The victim was shot on the chest.
Roa was detained at the Kabankalan City police station./PN
