BACOLOD City – A tricycle driver was killed in Hacienda Rosario Sur at the Reclamation Area in Barangay Granada.

Julius Medel, 28, of Purok Pinaya-on, Barangay Granada had gunshot, stab and hack wounds, said Chief Inspector Sherlock Gabana, Police Station 5 chief.

Gabana identified the suspects as brothers Ian, 32, and Rodemir, 29, both surnamed Canoy.

Ian was arrested and detained at Police Station 5, while his brother escaped and remained at large as of this writing.

Gabana said Ian confronted Medel and a heated argument ensued between them around 2 p.m. on Sunday. Rodimer later arrived with an improvised shotgun and fired at the victim.

Initial police investigation showed Medel would always hit the suspects’ carabao whenever he plies his tricycle.

A live bullet for a .45-caliber pistol, empty shells for the same firearm and another for a .9mm pistol were found at the crime scene, Gabana said./PN
